img_0680We get asked the same questions all the time… can you apply a concrete overlay over a wooden floor? What about a tile floor?

My standard answer used to be ‘no’, but with the latest industry developments, we are now able to offer any of our products over almost any surface.

We have primers for almost every type of situation. We can even apply overlays over paint or old glue mastic as long as we properly prepare the floor.

On a wooden floor, we simply prepare the seams with a fiberglass fabric and then prime the entire surface with a water-proof membrane, and we are ready to apply the concrete overlay. On a concrete floor that has paint or glue, we simply buff the entire floor to remove any loose particles, and then we apply the same water-proof membrane to the entire floor. This membrane gives us a solid seamless surface that all of our concrete products will bond to.
